The case, Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County v. Talevski, involved a nursing home resident who was chemically restrained and transferred to facilities far away from his family.
The Supreme Court ruled in favor of the residents and their estate, a significant victory for civil rights. This was a powerful case that demonstrated the Court’s respect for its own precedent, something it has not shown very often lately.
