What follows is the 1970 Lord Donaldson Report on "BOY ENTRANTS AND YOUNG SERVICEMEN" into the Armed Services.

The Report, [The Engagement of Boys] - Royal Navy - BOYS {in my time} aged 15 to 15¾ on joining,  became JUNIORS aged 15 to 15¾ on joining  in 1956.  However, for every reason, and specifically for this, a 15 year old is a BOY whatever the navy chooses to call him.  The school leaving age was raised to age 16 {1972}  thereby stopping the recruitment of 15 year olds.

In my PDF File, I have omitted some of the 'heavy' detail from the report, so the table of contents does not match what I have published. However, what is published is of interest and is a pre cursor to the eventual closing of HMS Ganges in 1976.
